Pet Endoscopy

An endoscope consists of a camera and a light source which is used to visualize the nasal passages, ear canals, airways, esophagus, stomach, and colon. Endoscopy is a relatively new technology in small animal medicine, and is a non-invasive means of diagnosis and treatment, in many cases preventing unnecessary surgery. Videos and pictures of the procedure can be recorded and biopsies can be optained with minimal trauma to your pet. The endoscope has proved especially useful in cases such as nasal foreign bodies, tumors which cannot be visualized any other way, and gastrointestinal foreign bodies.
